Lindor Woodland Ornaments

Sweeten any present or trim the tree with one of these adorable chocolate squirrels.

Materials

  • 1 hazelnut in its shell
  • Fine-tipped paint brush
  • White enamel paint
  • Black enamel paint
  • Hot glue gun
  • 1 Lindor Milk Chocolate, 70% Dark Chocolate, or White Chocolate Truffle depending on desired colour of squirrel
  • Scissors
  • 2 standard size brown, black or cream-coloured pipe cleaners
  • 1 brown, black or cream-coloured giant chenille pipe cleaner

Steps

  1. With the bottom of the hazelnut facing upwards, paint on the face with white and black paint, using the point of the nut as the nose.
  2. Glue the cellophane from the Lindor Truffle’s twist behind the Lindor Truffle with a small dot of hot glue and repeat on the opposite side.
  3. Place a medium dot of hot glue in front of the twist at the top of the Lindor Truffle and adhere the hazelnut head, face forward.
  4. Cut two ½-inch pieces of the standard pipe cleaner to make the ears and bend in half to create little points. Place two small dots of glue on top of the head and adhere each ear.
  5. Cut a 2-inch piece of standard pipe cleaner and bend into a U-shape to create the arms. Place a small dot of glue where the back of the hazelnut and Lindor Truffle meet at
the top-back of the Lindor Truffle. Adhere the bottom of the U-shape with the glue and allow to dry.
  6. Depending on the desired thickness of the tail, cut a 10 to 16-inch piece of the giant chenille pipe cleaner. Create a loop with the pipe cleaner and bend into a tail shape. Twist at the bottom to secure the loop and curve the tip of the tail back slightly.
  7. Cut a 4-inch length of standard pipe cleaner to create the legs. Loop pipe cleaner through the bottom of the tail and twist once to secure the legs to the tail, arranging the legs into a U-shape.
  8. Place a large dot of glue at the base
of the tail where the legs and the tail meet. Place the Lindor Truffle on the legs to complete your woodland ornament.
